GB-GAS is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how GB-GAS applications collect, use and protect information when you use our software.
This policy applies to all mobile applications and software developed by GB-GAS, including but not limited to:

Information We Collect
Most GB-GAS applications perform engineering calculations entirely on your device. Unless specifically stated within the application, GB-GAS does not collect, store or transmit personal information such as:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Payment information
- Contacts
- Messages
- Photos or videos
- Location data
Camera Access
Some GB-GAS applications, including the Heat Input Calculator, may request permission to use your device camera. The camera is used solely to assist with reading gas meter displays using Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
Images are processed locally on your device. GB-GAS does not upload, store or receive camera images or video.
Storage and Exported Files
Where required, applications may access device storage or system file services to allow users to:
- Save PDF reports
- Save images
- Export calculations
- Print or share reports
Files created by an application remain under the control of the user. GB-GAS does not receive copies of these files.
Internet Access
Some applications require internet access to:
- Display online help
- Open the GB-GAS website
- Display advertisements, where applicable
- Check for updated promotional splash screens
- Access online resources selected by the user
Internet access is not used to transmit engineering calculations or personal information to GB-GAS unless a user knowingly submits information through the GB-GAS website or another online service.
Advertising
Some free GB-GAS applications may display advertisements using Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect certain device identifiers, advertising information, app interactions and diagnostic information in accordance with Google's own privacy policies and consent requirements.
Paid GB-GAS applications may be provided without advertising.
Analytics
GB-GAS applications do not use analytics or user tracking unless specifically stated within the application or its store listing.
Engineering Calculations
Engineering values entered into GB-GAS applications are normally processed locally on your device. Calculation results are not transmitted to GB-GAS.
Reports
Applications may generate:
- PDF reports
- Image reports
- Pipe schedules
- Material schedules
- Commissioning reports
These reports are stored only where the user chooses to save them. GB-GAS has no access to these files.
Links to External Websites
GB-GAS applications may contain links to www.gb-gas.co.uk. Selecting these links opens your device's web browser.
Information submitted through the GB-GAS website is governed by the privacy information displayed on that website.
Third-Party Services
Some GB-GAS applications may use third-party services, including:
- Google AdMob
- Google Play services
- Apple platform services, where applicable
These third-party services operate under their own privacy policies. GB-GAS is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party providers.
Children's Privacy
GB-GAS applications are intended mainly for professional engineers, apprentices and students undertaking engineering calculations. The applications are not specifically directed at children under the age of 13.
GB-GAS does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Security
GB-GAS does not operate servers that routinely store engineering calculations or personal information generated within its applications. Where reports are saved locally, responsibility for securing those files rests with the user.
